High-Level Engagement at G7 Summit

President Trump is expected to arrive in France on Monday to participate in the G7 Summit, where leaders of the world’s major economies will deliberate on a wide range of global challenges, including economic growth, energy security, geopolitical stability, climate issues and emerging technologies.

Key issues likely to feature in the discussions include:

  • Bilateral trade and investment
  • Defence and security cooperation
  • Indo-Pacific strategy

  • Supply chain resilience
  • Energy cooperation
  • Regional and global security developments

The meeting is also expected to provide an opportunity for both leaders to review progress made since their previous engagement and explore new areas of collaboration.

Growing Importance of India-US Relations

Over the past decade, India and the United States have significantly expanded cooperation across sectors ranging from defence and technology to clean energy and critical infrastructure.

The two countries have emerged as important strategic partners in addressing regional and global challenges while promoting a rules-based international order.

Analysts believe the upcoming meeting could further reinforce diplomatic engagement and economic cooperation between New Delhi and Washington.

Multiple Bilateral Meetings Planned

During his stay in France, President Trump is also expected to meet leaders from Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and France.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with world leaders attending the summit, reinforcing India’s diplomatic outreach and international partnerships.

Global Issues on Agenda

Apart from bilateral matters, Modi and Trump are expected to exchange views on key international developments, including global economic conditions, energy security, regional conflicts and ongoing geopolitical challenges.

The meeting is likely to be closely watched by policymakers and investors alike, given the strategic significance of India-US ties and their growing impact on regional and global affairs.
