Private Sector Lender Reports Higher Revenue and Stable Financial Performance in First Quarter

New Delhi (Economy India): Private sector lender CSB Bank reported a 27% year-on-year increase in its net profit for the first quarter of FY2026-27, driven by healthy growth in core income and improved business performance.

The bank posted a net profit of ₹150 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared with ₹119 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Strong Growth in Total Income

CSB Bank’s total income rose significantly during the quarter to ₹1,516 crore, up from ₹1,286 crore recorded in the same period last year.

The improvement reflects steady growth in the bank’s lending business, interest income, and overall operational performance.

Profit Driven by Core Banking Business

The lender attributed its improved profitability primarily to strong performance in its core banking operations. Growth in interest income and disciplined business expansion helped support earnings during the quarter.

The results indicate that CSB Bank continues to strengthen its financial position amid a competitive banking environment.

Positive Outlook

India’s banking sector has continued to benefit from healthy credit demand, improving asset quality, and sustained economic growth. Analysts expect well-capitalized private sector banks such as CSB Bank to remain focused on expanding retail and MSME lending while maintaining profitability.

With rising income and consistent earnings growth, CSB Bank appears well-positioned to sustain its growth momentum in the coming quarters.
