RIDF Funding to Boost Irrigation, Roads, Drinking Water and Rural Connectivity Across the State

Chandigarh (Economy India): The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned nearly ₹15,056 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for 6,175 rural infrastructure projects in Haryana, providing a major boost to the state’s efforts to strengthen agriculture, connectivity, and essential public infrastructure.

The announcement was made during NABARD’s 45th Foundation Day celebrations in Chandigarh, where Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi attended as the chief guest.

The investment is expected to improve the quality of life in villages while supporting sustainable agricultural growth and rural economic development.

NABARD’s Role in Rural Transformation

Speaking at the event, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi praised NABARD’s contribution to Haryana’s development, stating that the institution has become a vital partner in accelerating rural transformation.

He noted that NABARD has played a significant role in:

  • Strengthening the state’s agricultural economy.
  • Financing infrastructure development.
  • Improving rural livelihoods.
  • Enhancing access to basic amenities.
  • Supporting long-term economic growth.

Rural Infrastructure Development Fund

  • Bridges and public infrastructure.
  • Drinking water facilities.
  • Flood protection works.
