YADGIR (KARNATAKA), (Economy India): Three workers were killed and two others were critically affected after a suspected chemical leak occurred inside a factory in the Kadechur-Badiala industrial area of Karnataka’s Yadgir district on Wednesday, police officials said.
According to preliminary findings, the incident took place early in the morning when a chemical reportedly leaked inside the factory premises. The workers who were on duty are believed to have suffocated after being exposed to the leaked substance.
Police said the three deceased workers were migrant labourers employed at the factory. Following the incident, rescue personnel rushed the affected workers to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
The two injured workers are currently undergoing treatment, and their condition is said to be critical.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the leak and whether safety protocols were being followed at the industrial unit. Further details are awaited as officials continue their inquiry into the incident.
