Factory Commissioned in Latur
MUMBAI (Economy India): Rail Vikash Nigam Limited (RVNL) has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Latur, Maharashtra. This factory will focus on producing 1,920 Vande Bharat sleeper coaches, a significant step in modernizing India’s rail network. The new facility will also be responsible for maintaining these coaches for the next 35 years.

RVNL announced the launch of the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory on X (formerly Twitter). The company highlighted this development as a key milestone in its commitment to enhancing the Indian rail network. The new factory will contribute to the production of advanced Vande Bharat sleeper coaches, aiming to elevate the travel experience for passengers.
“The commissioning of the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory marks an exciting time for Indian Railways,” said RVNL in their announcement. “This achievement is part of our commitment to modernizing the Indian rail network and advancing towards the vision of a developed India by 2047.”

Recent Orders and Achievements
In addition to the factory launch, RVNL recently secured significant contracts. On August 30, the company won orders worth ₹202.87 crore from South Eastern Railway. These orders include the construction of 132-kilovolt traction sub-stations and section posts for the Kharagpur Division.
