New reports and guidance documents aim to strengthen tax transparency, digital governance, international taxation, and compliance

New Delhi (Economy India): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled six major publications of the Income Tax Department on the occasion of Income Tax Day, reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparent, technology-driven, and taxpayer-centric governance.

The publications are designed to enhance knowledge sharing, improve tax administration, strengthen international cooperation, and support taxpayers and financial institutions in complying with evolving tax regulations.

Six Key Publications Released

1. Avlokan – Annual Report of FT&TR Division

The inaugural annual report of the Foreign Tax & Tax Research (FT&TR) Division highlights the department’s work in:

  • International tax policy
  • Tax treaty negotiations
  • Exchange of Information (EOI)
  • Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP)
  • Advance Pricing Agreements (APA)

The report showcases India’s growing role in international taxation.

A practical reference guide explaining the effective use of information exchanged under international tax treaties to improve tax administration and combat tax evasion.
