WASHINGTON (Economy India): An Indian-origin engineer couple has donated USD 20 million to the University of North Texas (UNT) to establish a new college dedicated to artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, the university said.
The major contribution by Anuradha and Vikas Sinha will support the creation of the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics at UNT.
The university said the new college will create new opportunities for students and faculty while strengthening its academic and research capabilities in artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and related fields.

New AI College to Focus on Intelligent Systems
The college will be organised around two academic divisions, bringing together the study and application of artificial intelligence with the broader human and institutional contexts in which intelligent technologies operate.
The Division of Applied Intelligence and Informatics will focus on building and deploying intelligent systems. Its work is expected to cover the practical development and application of AI and informatics technologies.
The Division of Information and Learning Applications, meanwhile, will examine how information and intelligent systems function within human and institutional environments.
Through these areas of focus, the new college aims to provide students and faculty with opportunities to engage with the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.
Indian-Origin Couple’s Contribution to American Higher Education
The USD 20 million donation highlights the growing contribution of Indian-origin professionals and entrepreneurs to US institutions of higher education and technological development.
UNT described the initiative as an example of immigrant participation in building the American dream, with the Sinhas’ contribution supporting the development of educational opportunities in one of the world’s fastest-growing technology fields.
Artificial intelligence and advanced analytics are increasingly influencing industries ranging from healthcare and finance to manufacturing, education and business. Universities are consequently expanding academic programmes and research capabilities to prepare students for an AI-driven economy.
The new college at UNT is expected to contribute to that effort by bringing together education, research and practical applications of intelligent technologies.
The establishment of the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics marks a significant expansion of UNT’s focus on AI and positions the university to provide students and faculty with new opportunities in the field.
