Beijing (Economy India): China on Monday successfully conducted a test launch of a long-range strategic missile from one of its nuclear-powered submarines in the Pacific Ocean, a move that has drawn criticism from Japan and Australia amid rising security concerns in the Indo-Pacific region.
According to China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, the missile carrying a dummy warhead was launched at 12:01 p.m. toward designated international waters in the Pacific.
State-run media reported that the missile landed accurately within the planned target area.

The PLA Navy said the launch was part of its routine military training and testing programme.
Chinese authorities stated that the missile carried a non-nuclear dummy warhead, emphasizing that the exercise was conducted in accordance with operational plans.
