RAIPUR (EconomyIndia): CG Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government has issued a tender for the construction of a state-of-the-art 220-bed hospital building in Kunkuri, Jashpur district. The government has approved a budget of ₹32.09 crores for this project. Notably, the Vishnu Dev Sai government had announced the construction of this hospital in the Kunkuri area as part of its budget. The required funds for the hospital building’s construction have been approved by Chief Minister Sai.

This hospital is expected to be a milestone for the tribal-dominated Jashpur district. The government plans to eventually develop it into a medical college. After taking office last December, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has been actively working to expand and improve healthcare services across the state, including in Jashpur. Immediately after his swearing-in, he issued strict instructions to the concerned officials to improve the ambulance services, ensuring that an ambulance reaches the patient within half an hour of receiving a call. In the first cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister directed health department officials to make affordable generic medicines mandatory in all government hospitals across the state.

In the past eight months, significant progress has been made in expanding healthcare services in Jashpur district. Along with the 220-bed hospital in Kunkuri, 25 additional ambulances and 1 mortuary van have been made available for patient care. Seven sub-health centers have been upgraded to primary health centers, and necessary human resources have been approved. The deployment of 19 MBBS doctors and 7 specialist doctors has addressed the shortage of medical professionals in the district. The state government has also approved ₹2.32 crores to address the shortage of medical equipment, which will be used to establish a dialysis center in Kunkuri and purchase essential equipment for hospitals in Jashpur, Manora, Lodam, and Bagicha.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai aims to make Jashpur district self-reliant in healthcare services so that patients and their families do not have to struggle to find treatment.
