New Delhi (Economy India): In a major relief for hotels, restaurants, and commercial kitchens, oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹183.50, effective July 1. This marks the first reduction in commercial LPG prices in 2026 after a series of hikes driven by global energy market volatility.
Following the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced to ₹2,930, down from ₹3,113, which was an all-time high reached last month amid rising crude oil prices linked to the West Asia crisis.
Relief for Hospitality and Food Service Sector
The price cut is expected to provide significant cost relief to businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG, including:
- Hotels
- Restaurants
- Cafés
- Catering services
- Food vendors
- Commercial kitchens
Lower fuel costs could help improve operating margins and reduce input costs for the hospitality industry.
Domestic LPG Prices Unchanged
While commercial users have received relief, domestic consumers will see no change in cooking gas prices.
The price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains at ₹942, following the last revision on June 7, when household cylinder prices were increased by ₹29.
Why Prices Changed
Commercial LPG prices are revised on the first day of every month based on the average international benchmark prices and fluctuations in global energy markets.
The latest reduction follows easing crude oil prices after recent geopolitical tensions in West Asia began to stabilize.
| Category | Latest Price |
|---|---|
| Commercial LPG (19 kg) | ₹2,930 |
| Price Reduction | ₹183.50 |
| Domestic LPG (14.2 kg) | ₹942 (No Change) |
| Effective Date | July 1, 2026 |
Economy India Insight
The sharp reduction in commercial LPG prices is likely to benefit India’s hospitality, restaurant, and food services sectors by lowering operational costs. However, unchanged domestic LPG prices mean households will not experience immediate relief. Future revisions will continue to depend on global crude oil trends, exchange rates, and international LPG benchmark prices.
