Russian President Says Conflict Rooted in Western Support for Kyiv Power Shift

Moscow (Economy India): Vladimir Putin has blamed Western nations for fueling the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, saying the conflict emerged from foreign support for a political shift in Kyiv.

Speaking in Moscow, the Russian president said the crisis was triggered by what he described as Western-backed efforts to change the political leadership in Ukraine.

According to Putin, the involvement of Western countries in Ukraine’s internal affairs contributed significantly to escalating tensions in the region.

He claimed that support from Western nations for political changes in Kyiv created conditions that ultimately led to confrontation between Russia and Ukraine.

The Russian leadership has long maintained that the expansion of Western political and security influence near Russia’s borders is a key factor behind the conflict.

Ongoing Geopolitical Tensions

The war between Russia and Ukraine has become one of the most significant geopolitical crises in recent decades.

The conflict has resulted in widespread economic disruptions, humanitarian challenges and global diplomatic tensions.

Western countries have supported Ukraine through military assistance, economic aid and sanctions against Russia.
