Registers highest-ever domestic sales of over 10.45 lakh units; FY sales grow 11% YoY as electric mobility debut nears


Gurugram | Economy India: Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the two-wheeler arm of Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corporation, has reported its highest-ever annual sales in the financial year 2024-25. The company sold a record 12,56,161 units, marking an 11% year-on-year growth over 11,33,902 units sold in FY2023-24.

The robust performance was led by record-breaking domestic sales of 10,45,662 units, a 14% increase over the previous year. While exports saw a marginal dip to 2,10,499 units (vs. 2,12,893 in FY23-24), the company’s overall momentum has strengthened its market position and bolstered confidence ahead of its electric vehicle debut.

March 2025: A Blockbuster Month

Suzuki capped off FY2024-25 with a historic monthly sales record in March 2025, selling 1,25,930 units—a strong 21% jump from 1,03,669 units in March 2024.

  • Domestic sales in March 2025 rose sharply by 23% to 1,05,736 units, compared to 86,164 units a year ago.
  • Exports reached 20,194 units, up from 17,505 units in March 2024.

“We are sincerely grateful to our customers, dealer partners, and team members for helping us achieve our highest-ever annual sales of 12.56 lakh units. Our sales have doubled in just four years,” said Mr. Mitsumoto Watabe, Operations Manager, Sales & After Sales, Suzuki Motorcycle India.


Strong Growth Driven by New Models and Customer Engagement

SMIPL attributed its success in FY2024-25 to a combination of product innovation, customer-centric outreach, and consistent dealer performance.

Key growth drivers included:

  • Launch of the new Suzuki Access, the company’s flagship scooter
  • Introduction of the GIXXER SF 250 Flex Fuel motorcycle
  • Engaging customer events like the Suzuki Matsuri Motorcycle Festival and Access Mileage Contest
  • Aggressive test-ride campaigns that enhanced brand experience and footfall
  • Expansion of service outreach through authorized workshops and genuine parts usage

The company’s “customer-first” approach played a crucial role in strengthening loyalty and improving repeat purchases across India.


Preparing for an Electric Future: e-ACCESS Launch Ahead

As Suzuki shifts gears toward sustainable mobility, FY2025-26 is set to mark a new milestone with the launch of its first electric scooter – the Suzuki e-ACCESS.

Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the e-ACCESS is built on Suzuki e-Technology, promising:

  • LFP battery with long life and durability
  • Smooth acceleration and easy handling
  • Dependable, practical performance for Indian urban riders

This EV offering will position Suzuki as a credible player in India’s rapidly evolving electric two-wheeler space.


FY2024-25: A Year of Milestones and Compliance

Suzuki Motorcycle India also made strategic upgrades to align with evolving regulations. Notably:

  • The entire domestic product portfolio was upgraded to meet OBD-2B norms.
  • The company enhanced product safety, diagnostics, and emission standards.
  • Manufacturing remained consistent from the company’s Gurugram plant, with an annual capacity of 1.3 million units.
