THIRUVANANTHAPURAM (Economy India): Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday said that the Narendra Modi-led government was the first in India to introduce a dedicated law aimed at preventing question paper leaks during public examinations.

In a Facebook post, Chandrasekhar said the Centre enacted the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, to tackle exam malpractices and protect the integrity of recruitment and entrance examinations across the country.

The BJP leader, who represents the Nemom Assembly constituency in Kerala, stated that he was a member of the ministerial committee responsible for framing the legislation. He said this gave him firsthand knowledge of the reforms introduced by the Modi government for students and young job aspirants since 2014.

According to Chandrasekhar, the anti-paper leak law reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability in public examinations. He said the legislation aims to curb organised cheating, paper leaks, and other unfair practices that have affected recruitment and competitive exams in recent years.

The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 provides strict penalties for individuals and organised groups involved in leaking question papers, cheating, or disrupting examination processes. The law is intended to strengthen the credibility of government recruitment exams and safeguard the future of millions of students and candidates.

Chandrasekhar reiterated that the Modi government’s reforms have focused on creating a transparent examination system and protecting the interests of India’s youth through stronger legal measures.
