THIRUVANANTHAPURAM (Economy India): Kerala Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal on Thursday presented the state budget for the financial year 2026–27, announcing a major allocation of ₹14,500 crore for social security pensions, along with an increase in honorariums for ASHA and Anganwadi workers.

Presenting the sixth budget of the second Pinarayi Vijayan-led government in the Kerala Assembly, Balagopal said the government remains committed to strengthening welfare schemes and supporting frontline health and childcare workers.

As per the budget proposals, the monthly honorarium for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) and Anganwadi workers will be increased by ₹1,000, while Anganwadi helpers will receive an additional ₹500 per month.
