Extensive Security Measures, Police Deployment and Surveillance Arrangements Put in Place Across Examination Centres

Ahmedabad (Economy India): Authorities in Gujarat have completed extensive preparations to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled to be held on Sunday. Officials said comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place across examination centres to prevent any irregularities and maintain the integrity of the examination process.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (NEET-UG) is one of India’s most important entrance examinations for admission to medical and dental colleges. Given the significance of the examination and concerns regarding examination security, authorities have adopted stringent measures to ensure a fair and transparent process.

Enhanced Security at Examination Centres

Officials said police personnel will be deployed at all examination centres across the state to maintain law and order and prevent unauthorized activities.

Security checks will be conducted at entry points, and candidates will undergo verification procedures before being allowed to enter examination halls. Local administration, police authorities, and education officials are coordinating closely to ensure smooth operations.

Surveillance and Monitoring Measures

To prevent malpractice and maintain examination integrity, surveillance mechanisms have been strengthened at various centres.

Officials said monitoring teams have been constituted to supervise examination arrangements and immediately address any issues that may arise during the examination process.

Special vigilance measures have also been implemented to detect and prevent unfair practices, unauthorized communication devices, and other violations.

Coordination Among Agencies

The state administration has established coordination mechanisms involving district authorities, police departments, education officials, and examination centre management.

Officials said emergency response arrangements have also been made to deal with unforeseen situations, including technical issues, crowd management concerns, and transportation problems.

Regular review meetings have been conducted ahead of the examination to assess preparedness and ensure that all logistical arrangements are in place.

Importance of NEET-UG Examination

NEET-UG serves as the primary entrance examination for undergraduate medical and dental admissions across India. Lakhs of students appear for the examination every year seeking admission to government and private medical institutions.

Given the high stakes involved, authorities have emphasized the importance of conducting the examination in a fair, transparent, and secure manner.

Officials said maintaining the credibility of the examination system remains a top priority.

Guidelines for Candidates

Authorities have advised candidates to reach examination centres well in advance to avoid last-minute difficulties.

Students have been asked to carry all required documents, including admit cards and valid identification proofs, and comply with examination guidelines.

Candidates have also been advised not to carry prohibited items such as electronic devices, communication equipment, or unauthorized materials into examination centres.

Government Commitment to Fair Examinations

State officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring that every candidate receives an equal opportunity in a secure examination environment.

The administration stated that strict action would be taken against any individual or group attempting to disrupt the examination process or engage in unfair practices.

With comprehensive security arrangements, police deployment, and enhanced monitoring measures in place, Gujarat authorities remain confident that the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted smoothly and transparently.
