New Delhi/Raipur (Economy India):Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed a range of development priorities, welfare initiatives, and key issues concerning the state. During the meeting, Sai made a special request for the establishment of an All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Chhattisgarh, aiming to strengthen traditional healthcare infrastructure in the state.
The meeting took place at Amit Shah’s office in Kartavya Bhavan, where Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was also present. According to state government officials, the discussions focused on accelerating development projects, improving public welfare delivery, and addressing several contemporary issues relevant to Chhattisgarh.

Focus on Ayurveda and Healthcare Infrastructure
One of the key highlights of the meeting was Chief Minister Sai’s request for setting up an AIIA campus in Chhattisgarh. Such an institution would help promote Ayurveda-based healthcare, research, education, and employment opportunities while improving access to traditional medical systems for citizens.
The proposal aligns with the state’s efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and expand specialized medical facilities in both urban and rural areas.
Development and Welfare Initiatives Discussed
During the interaction, Sai briefed the Union Home Minister on various development works being undertaken in the state. Discussions also covered the implementation of public welfare schemes, infrastructure projects, and governance reforms aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
The Chief Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to inclusive development and sought continued support from the Centre for key projects and policy initiatives.
Multiple Chief Ministers Meet Amit Shah
On the same day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also held separate meetings with Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
According to officials, the Nagaland delegation, which included Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and T.R. Zeliang, discussed security and law-and-order-related matters with the Home Minister.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also paid a courtesy visit to Shah, reflecting continued engagement between the Centre and state governments on governance and development issues.
