Greenfield project forms part of Mahindra’s planned ₹15,000 crore investment in Vidarbha; facility to be supported by a 150-acre supplier park
Mumbai, August 31, 2026: Mahindra Group is moving ahead with plans to establish a major integrated automobile and tractor manufacturing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra, with the company set to take possession of the first package of approximately 800 acres of land, the group said on Monday.
The upcoming facility will be located at Additional Butibori, an industrial area developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). The project is expected to strengthen Maharashtra’s manufacturing ecosystem and create new opportunities across the automobile, tractor and supplier sectors.

₹15,000 Crore Greenfield Investment
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) had earlier announced plans to establish a greenfield manufacturing facility spread across 1,500 acres in Vidarbha, with a committed investment of ₹15,000 crore.
The project is expected to become one of the group’s significant manufacturing investments and will expand its production capabilities in the region.
The first land package of around 800 acres marks an important step toward the development of the proposed integrated manufacturing facility.
150-Acre Supplier Park in Sambhajinagar
The Nagpur manufacturing facility will be complemented by a 150-acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar.
The supplier park is expected to support the main manufacturing facility by bringing suppliers and allied businesses closer to the production ecosystem. Such an integrated model can help improve supply-chain efficiency and strengthen local industrial activity.
Boost to Maharashtra’s Manufacturing Ecosystem
The proposed investment is expected to contribute to the industrial development of Vidarbha and create opportunities for ancillary industries, suppliers and other businesses connected to the automotive and tractor sectors.
With the manufacturing facility and supplier park being developed as part of a broader industrial ecosystem, the project could also support employment generation and regional economic activity.

The development also comes at a time when India is seeking to expand domestic manufacturing capabilities, strengthen supply chains and attract large-scale industrial investments.
