Hindustan Unilever reports marginal year-on-year growth in consolidated net profit for the September quarter of FY27, while revenue from product sales increases nearly 15%.

NEW DELHI, (Economy India): Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), one of India’s leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies, reported steady year-on-year growth in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of financial year 2026-27, supported by a strong increase in revenue from product sales.

The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹2,796 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, compared with ₹2,791 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, according to its regulatory filing.

Revenue from the sale of products rose 14.77% year-on-year to ₹18,037 crore in the July-September quarter of FY27, compared with ₹15,715 crore in the same period a year earlier.

HUL Q2 Profit Remains Broadly Stable

HUL’s consolidated net profit increased by ₹5 crore from the year-ago quarter, indicating broadly stable reported earnings.

The company noted that the previous year’s comparative profit was supported by a one-off tax gain of ₹273 crore. This benefit created a higher base for comparison in the September quarter of FY27.

Against that backdrop, HUL maintained its profit level while recording a substantially higher revenue figure.

Revenue from Product Sales Grows 14.77%

Revenue from the sale of products increased to ₹18,037 crore from ₹15,715 crore a year earlier, representing year-on-year growth of 14.77%.

The increase highlights the expansion in HUL’s reported product-sales revenue during the quarter. However, the figures provided in the filing excerpt do not detail the contribution of individual product categories, pricing, sales volumes or other factors behind the growth.

Further information on segment performance and operating profitability would be needed to assess the drivers of the company’s quarterly performance in greater detail.

Higher Revenue, Stable Profit Shape Q2 Performance

HUL’s September-quarter results present a mixed picture: product-sales revenue recorded double-digit growth, while consolidated net profit remained broadly unchanged from the previous year.

The comparison is also influenced by the ₹273-crore one-off tax gain included in the year-ago period. Consequently, the reported profit figures need to be read in the context of that higher base.

The results provide an update on the company’s performance in India’s competitive FMCG market, where businesses sell products across everyday consumer categories.

Further details on operating margins, individual business segments and management’s outlook were not included in the supplied report.
