NEW DELHI, (Economy India): Domestic telecom equipment manufacturer HFCL has secured a major export order worth around USD 244 million (approximately Rs 2,329 crore) for the supply of high-quality optical fibre cables to a global multinational corporation.

The company disclosed the development in a regulatory filing on Tuesday. However, HFCL did not reveal the identity of the customer.

According to the company, the agreement has been signed through its overseas wholly-owned subsidiary and will run for a period of three years, with the supply programme scheduled to continue until December 2029.

HFCL said the contract involves the supply of high-quality, high-fibre-count Optical Fibre Cables (OFC), which are expected to support the growing global demand for high-speed digital connectivity and telecom infrastructure.

“The total value of the contract over its tenure is estimated at around USD 244 million, equivalent to about Rs 2,329 crore,” the company said in its filing.

The large export order marks a significant business win for HFCL and strengthens its presence in international markets. The agreement is also expected to contribute positively to the company’s export business and optical fibre cable manufacturing operations over the coming years.

With countries and global corporations continuing to invest heavily in broadband networks, data centres, 5G infrastructure and digital connectivity, demand for advanced optical fibre solutions remains strong. HFCL’s latest contract highlights the increasing role of Indian telecom and technology companies in supplying equipment and infrastructure solutions to international markets.
