LOS ANGELES (Economy India): Paramount Pictures is developing a new film set in the world of the iconic horror franchise A Nightmare on Elm Street, bringing legendary slasher Freddy Krueger back to the big screen.
The studio has secured the U.S. rights to adapt the original screenplay of the 1984 horror classic from the estate of filmmaker Wes Craven, according to reports.

The untitled project will be produced under Paramount Primal, the company’s newly launched label dedicated to horror and genre films. While plot details, casting, and a release date have not yet been announced, the project marks a major revival of one of Hollywood’s most influential horror franchises.
Released in 1984, A Nightmare on Elm Street became a landmark horror film, introducing Freddy Krueger, the terrifying dream-stalking killer with razor-sharp gloves. The franchise has since spawned multiple sequels, a crossover film, television adaptations, and a 2010 reboot.
Horror fans are eagerly awaiting more details as Paramount begins work on the latest chapter of the legendary series.
