PATNA (Economy India): A central team led by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit Bihar to assess the flood situation in the state, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister, however, did not specify when the central team would arrive in Bihar or how long its assessment would continue.
Central Team to Assess Flood Impact
The visit is expected to provide the Centre with a first-hand assessment of the flood situation and the challenges being faced by affected areas.
A central assessment can help determine the extent of damage and the assistance required by the state government for relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Bihar Government Working on Permanent Solution
Choudhary said the Bihar government was making sustained efforts to find a permanent solution to the state’s recurring flood problem.
Flooding has remained a major challenge for Bihar, particularly during the monsoon season, affecting communities, agriculture, roads and other infrastructure across vulnerable areas.
The Chief Minister’s statement comes as the state continues to focus on both immediate flood management and longer-term measures to address the recurring problem.
Focus on Long-Term Flood Management
The proposed central visit could also provide an opportunity for the state and Centre to review measures required to strengthen flood-control infrastructure and disaster preparedness.
The Bihar government has maintained that a lasting solution will require sustained efforts rather than relying only on relief measures after floods occur.
The central team’s assessment is expected to help in evaluating the situation on the ground and determining further support required for the state.
