Former IndiGo Employee Alleges He Was Asked to Touch Supervisor's Feet

SHARESHARESHARESHARE

MUMBAI, ( Economy India ): A former IndiGo employee has alleged that he was humiliated by a senior colleague after reporting to work without wearing a tie. In a video shared on social media, the former ground staff member claimed he was asked to touch his supervisor’s feet as a form of punishment for violating the airline’s dress code.

The employee, who appears in the video wearing an IndiGo ground staff uniform and the airline’s official lanyard, said the incident took place during his time with the company. He also alleged that he raised the matter with the airline’s management, hoping appropriate action would be taken. However, according to him, no action was taken against those involved.

The video quickly gained attention on social media, with many users expressing concern over workplace dignity and employee treatment. The allegations have sparked discussions about professional conduct, respect in the workplace, and how employee complaints are handled within large organizations.

Responding to the claims, IndiGo firmly denied the allegations. The Gurugram-based airline stated that the incident described by the former employee does not reflect its workplace culture or values. The company emphasized that it is committed to providing a respectful, inclusive, and professional work environment for all employees and does not support any form of humiliation or inappropriate behavior.

At present, the allegations remain unverified, and there has been no official confirmation from any independent authority. The matter is currently based on the former employee’s social media statements and the airline’s denial.

The incident has nevertheless reignited conversations about workplace ethics, employee rights, and the importance of maintaining mutual respect in India’s fast-growing aviation industry. If any formal inquiry is initiated, further details may emerge in the coming days.
