Raipur (Economy India): Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao has announced the construction of a grand auditorium in Ratanpur, marking a significant step towards strengthening cultural infrastructure in the historic town. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Maghi Purnima and Tribal Development Fair 2026 held in Ratanpur on February 1.

The Deputy Chief Minister declared a financial allocation of ₹2 crore for the construction of the auditorium and an additional ₹20 lakh for the construction of a boundary wall for the municipal building. Emphasising Ratanpur’s historical and religious importance, Shri Sao said the town is a sacred and ancient city with global recognition and deserves development in line with its rich legacy.

“Ratanpur was once the capital of Chhattisgarh. We are committed to enhancing its dignity and identity,” he said. The Deputy CM also announced plans to develop Ratanpur as a corridor, drawing inspiration from the redevelopment of major religious destinations across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

With the blessings of Maa Mahamaya, Shri Sao said efforts would be intensified to beautify Ratanpur, including the revival and beautification of local ponds, to make the town more attractive for devotees and tourists alike.
The event was attended by MLA Shri Sushant Shukla, District Panchayat President Shri Rajesh Suryavanshi, Municipal Council President Shri Lavkush Kashyap, councillors, and a large number of local residents.
