New Delhi (Economy India): Agnivesh Agarwal, son of Vedanta Group founder and Chairman Anil Agarwal, has passed away in the United States. He was 49 years old. According to sources close to the family, Agnivesh Agarwal had been unwell for some time and was recovering from an illness at the time of his demise.

The untimely death has come as a shock to the family as well as the wider corporate and business community.

Role in Vedanta Group

Agnivesh Agarwal was a member of the Board of Directors of Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), a Vedanta Group company operating a major thermal power project in Punjab. He was associated with the company’s board-level decision-making and strategic discussions related to its operations.

Despite maintaining a relatively low public profile, he was actively involved in the group’s professional responsibilities.

Corporate World Mourns the Loss

Industry leaders, business associates, and corporate executives have expressed deep condolences to Anil Agarwal and his family. The loss is being described as a personal tragedy for the Agarwal family and an emotional moment for those associated with the Vedanta Group.

As of now, Vedanta Group has not issued a detailed official statement regarding the circumstances.

Health-Related Information

Family sources said that Agnivesh Agarwal had been undergoing treatment and was on the path to recovery. However, further details regarding his medical condition have not been disclosed.
