Dehradun (Economy India): The final voter list for Uttarakhand will now be published on October 3, Chief Electoral Officer Dr BVRC Purushottam said on Monday.
The final publication was earlier scheduled for September 15 under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. However, the date has now been postponed to October 3.

Over 99% Hearings Completed
According to the Chief Electoral Officer, hearings have been completed for more than 99 per cent of the 2.43 million (24.30 lakh) notices issued across the state as part of the voter-list revision exercise.
The completion of hearings marks a significant step towards finalising the revised electoral rolls.
The authorities are also processing Forms 6, 7 and 8, which are used for different voter-related applications and corrections. The CEO said the process concerning around 40 per cent of these forms has been completed.
Final Voter List Date Revised
Under the earlier schedule, Uttarakhand’s final electoral roll was expected to be published on September 15. The revised deadline of October 3 provides additional time for completing the remaining verification and form-processing work.
The extension is expected to help election officials complete the SIR exercise and ensure that eligible voters are appropriately included in the final electoral roll.

What Is the Special Intensive Revision?
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is an electoral-roll revision exercise aimed at reviewing voter records and ensuring that electoral rolls accurately reflect eligible voters.
During the process, election authorities verify voter information and provide opportunities for citizens to submit relevant forms, raise objections or seek corrections.
Forms 6, 7 and 8 play an important role in the process, including applications for inclusion of names, deletion or objection-related requests, and corrections or updates to electoral-roll entries.
More Time for Verification and Corrections
With more than 99 per cent of the notices already covered through hearings, the focus will now be on completing the remaining cases and processing pending forms before publication of the final list.
The final electoral roll is expected to provide the updated voter database following the completion of the SIR process in Uttarakhand.
October 3 to Be the Key Date
The revised October 3 deadline will be closely watched by voters, political parties and election officials across Uttarakhand.
Citizens who have submitted applications or sought corrections in their electoral details will be able to check the final voter list once it is published.
The development comes as the state election machinery moves towards completing one of its major electoral-roll revision exercises, with the authorities working to finish the remaining procedures before the new publication date.
