Gold loan NBFC reports robust first-quarter earnings as total income climbs 34% year-on-year

New Delhi (Economy India): Gold loan-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC) Muthoot Finance Ltd reported a 43% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY2026–27, driven by strong growth in income and continued demand for gold-backed lending.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, consolidated profit rose to ₹2,825 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with ₹1,974 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Total Income Rises to ₹8,695 Crore

The company’s total income increased to ₹8,695 crore during the April–June quarter, up from ₹6,485 crore recorded in the same period of FY2025–26.

The strong rise in income reflects healthy business growth and sustained momentum in the company’s lending operations.

Gold Loan Business Continues to Drive Growth

As India’s largest gold loan NBFC, Muthoot Finance continues to benefit from strong customer demand for secured credit. Gold loans remain a preferred financing option for individuals and small businesses due to their quick processing, lower risk and collateral-backed structure.

The latest quarterly performance highlights the resilience of the gold financing segment despite evolving economic conditions.

Investors to Watch Future Growth

Market participants will closely monitor Muthoot Finance’s loan book expansion, asset quality, interest margins and management commentary on credit demand in the coming quarters.
