CM announces community infrastructure projects, inaugurates and lays foundation stones worth ₹11.75 crore at Jharia Yadav Mahasammelan in Chhattisgarh
Raipur (Economy India): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday said that the creation of a strong, harmonious society is the key to building a prosperous and empowered nation. Addressing the Jharia Yadav Mahasammelan in Khari Jharia village of Kunkuri development block in Jashpur district, the Chief Minister emphasised social unity, awareness and collective thinking as essential pillars of national development.
Speaking as the chief guest at the community convention, CM Sai announced the construction of a Mangal Bhavan and a cultural pavilion in the village. He also honoured meritorious students of the Yadav community who performed exceptionally well in board examinations by awarding them certificates of appreciation.

Education and Social Reform at the Core
The Chief Minister noted that such large-scale social gatherings provide an opportunity to eradicate social evils and guide society in a positive direction. Reiterating the state government’s commitment to dignity, education and inclusive development of all sections, he called upon community leaders and families to prioritise quality education for children.
Highlighting the government’s focus on education infrastructure, CM Sai said that colleges are now operational in every development block across the state, while institutions of national importance—such as medical, engineering and law colleges—are being continuously expanded and strengthened.
Praise for Yadav Community’s Traditions
Commending the Yadav community’s long-standing tradition of gau seva (cow protection and service), the Chief Minister said that as descendants of Lord Krishna, the community has played a historic role in preserving and protecting cattle. He also appealed for collective efforts toward building a drug-free society.
Government Achievements and Welfare Measures
Outlining key achievements of the state government, CM Sai said that most of the guarantees given to the people by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been fulfilled over the past two years.
- Over 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas approvals were granted in the first cabinet decision, marking the beginning of a housing revolution in the state.
- Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, more than ₹15,000 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of nearly 70 lakh women beneficiaries.
- Through the Krishak Unnati Yojana, paddy is being procured at ₹3,100 per quintal, up to 21 quintals per acre, with pending payments to be released before Holi.
- The remuneration for tendu patta collection has been increased from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500 per standard bag, directly benefiting forest-dwelling families.
₹11.75 Crore Development Projects Unveiled
During the event, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones and inaugurated six development projects worth ₹11.75 crore in the Kunkuri विधानसभा constituency.
- Five projects worth ₹9.42 crore were launched through bhoomipujan.
- One completed project costing ₹2.33 crore was formally inaugurated.
The programme was attended by Jharia Yadav Samaj State President Shri Jagnik Yadav, other office-bearers of the community, and a large number of local residents.
