Tejashwi Yadav to Release Mahagathbandhan Manifesto Today; RJD Expels 27 Leaders Amid Growing Rift

Tejashwi Yadav to unveil alliance’s vision focusing on 10 lakh government jobs as RJD faces internal rebellion ahead of Bihar polls.

Patna (Economy India): As the Bihar Assembly elections gain momentum, the Mahagathbandhan alliance is set to unveil its much-awaited election manifesto today. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will release the document at 4 PM in Patna, outlining the coalition’s key promises, including the creation of 10 lakh government jobs — a major poll plank for the opposition alliance.

Manifesto Highlights: Jobs and Governance Focus

According to RJD sources, all alliance partners have reached a consensus on the manifesto. Tejashwi Yadav had earlier declared that one of his government’s first cabinet decisions would be to provide 10 lakh permanent government jobs.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will not be present during the release event.

Internal Crisis: RJD Expels 27 Leaders

In a dramatic turn of events, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) expelled 27 leaders, including Ritu Jaiswal and four former MLAs, for anti-party activities.
These members have been suspended from the party’s primary membership for six years. The decision came after several disgruntled leaders, upset over ticket distribution, chose to contest as independents.

Ritu Jaiswal, who had openly revolted against the RJD leadership, has filed her nomination from Parihar constituency in Sitamarhi as an independent candidate.

Mahagathbandhan Extends Support to Tej Pratap’s Candidate

In a strategic move, the Mahagathbandhan has decided to support Tej Pratap Yadav’s Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) candidate Shyam Kishor Chaudhary from Sugauli seat in Motihari.
Originally, the seat was allocated to Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), but after VIP candidate Shashi Bhushan Singh’s nomination was canceled, the alliance extended support to Tej Pratap’s nominee.

VIP’s national spokesperson Dev Jyoti said, “The decision to support JJD’s candidate was taken after discussions with alliance partners and with Mukesh Sahni’s full consent.”

Priyanka Gandhi’s Rally Rescheduled to November 1

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi will launch her Bihar campaign with two rallies in Begusarai district on November 1. Her earlier public meeting, scheduled for October 28, was canceled due to the Chhath Puja festival.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are set to address a joint rally in Muzaffarpur on October 29, marking a major show of opposition unity.

Tejashwi’s Strong Attack on NDA: “Two Generations Destroyed”

Addressing a campaign rally, Tejashwi Yadav accused the NDA government of ruining two generations in Bihar.
He said,

“Bihar is desperate for change. For 20 years, the same government has failed to bring real progress. Just as stagnant water begins to rot, this government too has become stale. You gave them 20 years — now give us 20 months. We will prove what real governance looks like.”

He further added that if the Mahagathbandhan comes to power, it will focus on employment, healthcare, education, and youth welfare.

Election Landscape: NDA vs Mahagathbandhan

With festivals ending and campaigning gaining pace, both NDA and Mahagathbandhan are intensifying their public outreach.
Congress has released a list of 40 star campaigners, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, signaling a high-stakes contest in the upcoming polls.
