Commercial operations to begin after statutory approvals; new attraction expected to strengthen Ekta Nagar’s position as a premier tourism destination
Narmada, Gujarat (Economy India News): Gujarat has added another major attraction to the Statue of Unity tourism ecosystem with the launch of a 600-passenger luxury cruise on the Narmada River at Ekta Nagar. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance the visitor experience and further strengthen the region’s tourism infrastructure.
According to the Gujarat government, the luxury cruise was successfully launched on Tuesday near the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue dedicated to India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

New Milestone for Tourism
Officials said the introduction of the high-capacity cruise marks another milestone in the development of Ekta Nagar as a world-class tourism destination.
“The Statue of Unity, home to the world’s tallest statue, has added another landmark attraction with the successful launch of a 600-passenger capacity cruise on the Narmada River,” the state government said in an official statement.
The cruise is designed to offer visitors a premium sightseeing experience, providing panoramic views of the Statue of Unity, the surrounding hills, and the scenic Narmada River.
Commercial Operations Soon
The government said commercial services will begin after all statutory approvals are received and prescribed safety requirements are fulfilled.
Authorities are completing regulatory formalities and safety inspections before opening the service to the public.
