New Delhi | Economy India | A sharp political confrontation unfolded on Monday after Rahul Gandhi strongly countered Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his “dirty and shameless politics” remark against the Indian National Congress. Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of diverting attention from serious national and international issues, asserting that the real cause of concern lies elsewhere.

In a post on X, the Congress leader said that what is truly “shameful” is the alleged appearance of the Prime Minister’s name and that of one cabinet colleague in the Epstein files, the “selling” of India’s interests under the Indo-US trade deal, and what he described as the “handing over” of the country’s data.

Adani Case Raises Sleepless Nights, Claims Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi further alleged that Prime Minister Modi is unable to “sleep peacefully” due to an ongoing court case in the United States involving industrialist Gautam Adani. According to him, the case is not limited to a corporate entity but reflects deeper issues concerning the ruling establishment.

“This is not just a case against one businessman. It is a case against the ruling system and the financial architecture of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” Gandhi claimed, questioning why no concrete action has been taken for nearly 14 months.

Congress Accuses Government of Inaction

The Congress leader termed the delay in action on the matter as “shameful” and said it raises serious questions about accountability, transparency, and governance. He alleged that repeated political attacks on the opposition are attempts to distract public attention from unresolved economic and institutional concerns.

Gandhi reiterated that issues related to national interest, data security, and international trade agreements deserve serious debate rather than political rhetoric.

‘Congress Will Not Retreat Even an Inch’

Striking a defiant tone, Rahul Gandhi asserted that regardless of political pressure or personal attacks, the Congress would continue to stand its ground.

“Whatever the Prime Minister may do, the Congress will not retreat even an inch. We will continue to defend the country, its institutions, and democratic values,” he said.

Political Temperatures Rise Ahead of Key Battles

The exchange marks a fresh escalation in the ongoing political face-off between the ruling party and the opposition. With economic governance, corporate accountability, and India’s global engagements increasingly entering political discourse, the war of words is expected to intensify further in the days ahead.

Economy India Insight:
Beyond political rhetoric, the debate underscores growing concerns over economic transparency, corporate-government relations, and institutional accountability—issues that remain central to investor confidence and India’s long-term economic narrative.
