Mukesh Ambani tops 2021 Forbes list of India’s richest

Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest since 2008, with a net worth of $92.7 billion, topped the rich list. As many as 61 billionaires added at least a billion or more to their existing wealth.

Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest person since 2008, topped the Forbes’ 2021 list of the wealthiest Indians, with a net worth of $92.7 billion.

Ambani recently showed interest in pivoting into the renewable energy sector with a $10 billion investment by Reliance Industries.

The Total Worth of India’s 100 Richest

The total worth of India’s 100 Richest was evaluated and put together to amount to a record US$775 billion, including $257 billion, a 50 percent gain, from the previous year.

As many as 61 billionaires added at least a billion or more to their existing wealth, while more than 80 percent of those on the rich list saw an increase in their fortunes.

The richest Mukesh Ambani added $4 billion to his wealth from 2020 followed by Gautam Adani who is next on the list with a net worth of $74.8 billion.

It must be noted that Adani is also the top gainer on the list who added $49.5 billion to his existing fortune, a direct 200% increase form 2020.

Shiv Nadar (net worth of $31 billion) followed by Radhakishan Damani (net worth of $29.4 billion) have maintained their third and fourth rank on the list, respectively.

Cyrus Poonawalla stepped up a rank to enter the top 5 in 2021 with a net worth of $19 billion.

Meanwhile, the top ten club welcomed Savitri Jindal for the first time with the total worth of $18 billion, as against the $6.6 billion a year ago.
