THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, (Economy India): The Kerala government has sanctioned Rs 14.40 crore for the continued implementation of the ‘Snehasanthwanam’ package, a comprehensive welfare and rehabilitation programme for people affected by Endosulfan in Kasaragod district.

The funds have been sanctioned through the Social Justice Department under the budgetary allocation for the 2026-27 financial year, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said on Saturday.

A major portion of the sanctioned amount will be utilised to provide direct financial assistance to Endosulfan-affected persons. The support is intended to help affected families meet their day-to-day needs and access essential welfare services.

The government’s decision is part of its continued efforts to support people who have suffered long-term consequences linked to Endosulfan exposure in Kasaragod. The Snehasanthwanam scheme focuses on providing financial and rehabilitation assistance to affected individuals and their families.
