India’s Second-Largest IT Services Company Reports 14% Revenue Growth in Q1FY27; Ashiss Kumar Dash Named CEO-Designate

New Delhi (Economy India): India’s second-largest information technology services company Infosys reported a 12.2% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹7,769 crore for the June quarter, while moderating the upper end of its full-year revenue growth guidance amid continued macroeconomic uncertainties.

The company reported strong revenue growth during the first quarter of financial year 2026-27, with consolidated revenue rising 14% year-on-year to ₹48,211 crore.

However, Infosys indicated a cautious outlook for the remainder of the financial year, reflecting uncertainty in the global economic environment and its potential impact on technology spending by businesses.

FY27 Revenue Growth Outlook Revised

Infosys has tempered the upper end of its full-year revenue growth forecast and now expects revenue growth in the range of 1.5% to 3% for FY27.

The revised outlook comes against a backdrop of continued macroeconomic uncertainty affecting businesses across major global markets.

Technology companies have been closely monitoring client spending patterns as businesses reassess technology investments amid changing economic conditions.

The IT services sector has also been navigating shifts in demand, changing customer priorities and the rapid adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

Q1 Revenue Rises 14%

Infosys recorded consolidated revenue of ₹48,211 crore in the June quarter, marking a 14% year-on-year increase.

The revenue performance reflects continued demand for the company’s technology services and digital transformation solutions from clients across global markets.

As businesses increasingly focus on modernising their technology infrastructure, improving operational efficiency and adopting AI-enabled solutions, IT service providers are positioning themselves to capture emerging opportunities.

Infosys has been investing in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud technology, digital transformation and automation to support clients navigating these changes.

Net Profit Climbs to ₹7,769 Crore

The company’s consolidated net profit for the quarter stood at ₹7,769 crore, representing a 12.2% year-on-year increase.

The rise in profitability comes despite the challenging macroeconomic backdrop and ongoing uncertainty in global markets.

The quarterly performance will be closely watched by investors and analysts as they assess the health of technology spending and the demand environment for Indian IT services companies.

Macro Uncertainty Remains a Key Concern

The global technology services industry continues to face an uncertain economic environment.

Businesses in key markets have become more selective about discretionary technology spending, while concerns around economic growth, inflation and geopolitical developments continue to influence corporate investment decisions.

For Indian IT companies, the global demand environment is particularly important because a significant portion of their revenue comes from international markets.

Infosys’ decision to moderate the upper end of its FY27 revenue outlook reflects the company’s cautious approach to the changing business environment.

At the same time, the company continues to see opportunities arising from the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

Leadership Transition Announced

In a significant leadership development, Infosys also announced the appointment of company veteran Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO-designate.

Dash is scheduled to take over as Chief Executive Officer on April 1, 2027, following the completion of the second term of incumbent CEO Salil Parekh.

The leadership transition marks an important moment for Infosys as Parekh prepares to conclude a tenure of around nine years at the helm of the company.

Salil Parekh’s Nine-Year Tenure Comes to an End

Salil Parekh has led Infosys for more than nine years and is the company’s longest-serving CEO who is not one of its founders.

During his leadership, Infosys has operated through significant changes in the global technology industry, including the rapid expansion of cloud computing, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

His tenure has also coincided with major changes in the way global businesses approach technology investments and digital transformation.

With Parekh’s second term set to conclude, the appointment of a CEO-designate provides the company with a clear roadmap for leadership succession.

AI and Digital Transformation to Shape Future Growth

The global IT services industry is undergoing a major transformation as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into business operations.

Companies are investing in generative AI, automation, data analytics and cloud platforms to improve productivity and create new business models.

For Infosys, these trends represent both opportunities and challenges.

The company is expected to continue focusing on AI-led transformation and digital services while helping clients manage the technological changes taking place across industries.

The ability to convert growing demand for AI solutions into sustainable revenue growth will remain an important factor for the company’s future performance.

Investors Focus on Growth Outlook and Leadership Change

Infosys’ Q1FY27 results, revised revenue guidance and leadership transition are expected to remain key areas of focus for investors and industry observers.

The 12.2% increase in net profit and 14% rise in revenue demonstrate the company’s strong quarterly performance. However, the moderation in the upper end of its FY27 revenue outlook highlights the challenges posed by macroeconomic uncertainty.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO-designate sets the stage for a leadership transition in 2027.

As Infosys moves toward the next phase of its growth, the company will have to balance near-term economic uncertainties with long-term opportunities arising from artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital transformation.

The coming quarters will be crucial in determining whether stronger technology demand and AI-led opportunities can offset the impact of global economic uncertainty and support sustainable growth for the IT services major.
