The “Made for Business” platform aims to coordinate land, power, infrastructure, approvals and skilled manpower for investors from project implementation through expansion.
MUMBAI, (Economy India): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday launched the ‘Invest Maharashtra’ platform, positioning it as a single-window initiative aimed at attracting and facilitating investments in the state.
At the launch, the Maharashtra government also signed 67 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) involving proposed investments worth Rs 8.57 lakh crore, according to the state government.
The platform is designed to strengthen coordination between investors and government departments by providing support on land, electricity, infrastructure, regulatory approvals and skilled manpower.

Government to Coordinate Investor Requirements
Speaking at the launch, Fadnavis said the government would take an integrated approach to meeting the requirements of investors after a project is selected.
He said the state administration would coordinate key requirements so that investors do not have to navigate multiple government departments independently.
The initiative is intended to make Maharashtra a major investment destination in India as well as an attractive location for global investors.

‘Made for Business’ Identity
The platform carries the identity “Made for Business”, reflecting the state’s stated focus on improving the ease of doing business and reducing delays faced by investors.
Fadnavis said the government needs to recognise the importance of investors’ time and take responsibility for resolving issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
The approach, according to the chief minister, will extend beyond the initial investment decision and continue through project implementation and subsequent expansion.
Support From Project Stage to Expansion
Under the proposed framework, government agencies would coordinate with investors from the project stage through commissioning and expansion.
The areas identified for coordinated support include:
- Land availability and acquisition
- Power and utility requirements
- Infrastructure connectivity
- Government approvals and clearances
- Availability of skilled manpower
- Project implementation support
- Expansion-related requirements
The government aims to use the platform to provide investors with a more integrated interface for addressing these requirements.

Maharashtra Seeks Larger Investment Footprint
The launch comes as Maharashtra seeks to strengthen its position as one of India’s leading industrial and investment destinations.
The 67 MoUs signed at the event represent proposed investments across projects that are expected to contribute to industrial activity, infrastructure development and employment once implemented.
However, MoUs represent investment intentions and do not necessarily translate immediately into realised investment. Actual investment will depend on project approvals, financing, land and infrastructure availability and other implementation conditions.

Focus on Investor Facilitation
The ‘Invest Maharashtra’ initiative puts investor facilitation at the centre of the state’s approach.
By assigning responsibility for coordination across government departments, the state intends to reduce procedural complexity and provide continued support to companies after they commit to projects.
The government said the objective is to build a system in which investors have a designated institutional mechanism to address project-related requirements rather than approaching multiple departments separately.
