Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Mascot, Torch and Theme Song Unveiled

A major highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the mascot ‘Mor Veer’, the theme song, and the Khelo India Torch for the upcoming Khelo India Tribal Games, Chhattisgarh–2026. The Chief Minister remotely unveiled the symbols, marking a key milestone in the state’s preparation for hosting the national-level tribal sports event.

The torch was jointly unveiled by women kabaddi player Sanju Devi and athletics player Amit Kumar, symbolising gender inclusivity and youth participation in sports.

Paying tribute to youth icon Swami Vivekananda, CM Sai offered floral respects to his statue and highlighted the philosopher’s vision of youth-led nation building.

Special Focus on Sports, Tribal Talent and Cultural Heritage

The inauguration ceremony witnessed a captivating Mallakhamb performance by athletes from the Abujhmad region, showcasing the deep-rooted sporting talent of Chhattisgarh’s tribal belts.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the youth festival is not merely a cultural event but a strategic platform to provide national exposure to young talent, especially from rural and tribal regions.

“Our government is fully committed to advancing youth in education, employment, skill development and sports. This festival provides a powerful platform for young people to showcase their abilities and move towards national recognition,” CM Sai said.

Bastar’s Transformation Reflected in Youth Participation

Highlighting social transformation in Left Wing Extremism–affected regions, CM Sai noted that over 1.65 lakh youth participated in the Bastar Olympics, reflecting growing peace, confidence and aspiration among tribal youth.

“This massive participation shows that Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving towards peace, development and positive change. Tribal regions hold immense sporting potential, and the government is committed to identifying and nurturing this talent,” he said.

Leaders Emphasise Youth-Centric Development

Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu said youth creativity and innovation are driving India’s progress, and both the Centre and state governments are working in tandem to secure a brighter future for young citizens.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao announced plans to organise Olympic-level sports events in the Surguja region, while Deputy CM Shri Vijay Sharma highlighted the growing national recognition of youth from tribal areas, especially Bastar.

Dignitaries Present

The event was attended by Culture and Tourism Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal, MLAs Amar Agrawal, Dharamjit Singh, Dharamlal Kaushik, Sushant Shukla, Mayor Mrs Pooja Vidhani, CREDA Chairman Shri Bhupendra Savanni, Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation Chairman Shri Raja Pandey, along with senior officials, athletes and large numbers of youth.

Economy India Analysis

The Chhattisgarh Youth Festival reflects a broader policy shift towards youth-led growth, combining sports infrastructure, cultural capital and tribal empowerment. With initiatives such as Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 and rising participation from conflict-affected regions, the state is positioning youth development as a cornerstone of social stability, economic inclusion and national integration.
