Farmers across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh will be selected through a transparent digital lottery system under the supervision of District Magistrates.
Lucknow I Economy India: In a major move to modernize agriculture and support farmers, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced a state-wide initiative to distribute subsidised agricultural machinery. The selection of farmers will be conducted through an e-lottery system between August 7 and August 8, covering all 75 districts of the state.

According to an official statement, the process will be conducted under the supervision of the District Magistrates and implemented by the Department of Agriculture. The digital lottery system aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and efficiency in the allocation of farm equipment.
The scheme is designed to empower small and marginal farmers by providing access to modern agricultural tools at significantly reduced prices through government subsidy. This includes equipment such as tillers, seeders, threshers, and sprayers that enhance productivity and reduce manual labour.
Only farmers who have pre-registered online for the scheme will be eligible for the lottery. Those selected will be notified individually, and will be guided through the next steps of receiving the equipment and availing the subsidy. All necessary verifications will be handled by district-level agriculture offices.

This initiative is aligned with Uttar Pradesh’s broader goals of boosting rural development, increasing agricultural efficiency, and supporting the state’s goal of doubling farmers’ incomes. It also reflects the government’s push towards digital governance in public welfare schemes.
With agriculture being a backbone of the state’s economy, such schemes are expected to have a ripple effect in improving rural livelihoods, reducing cost of production, and encouraging adoption of modern farming techniques.
