New Delhi, August 18 (Economy India): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital, further strengthening the coordination between the state and the Centre.

The meeting, held at Prime Minister’s residence in New Delhi, was officially shared by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on its official handle on X (formerly Twitter). The post read:

Focus on State-Centre Coordination

Though details of the discussion were not immediately disclosed, sources suggest the meeting primarily focused on:

  • Reviewing developmental projects in Madhya Pradesh,
  • Strengthening infrastructure connectivity,
  • Increasing industrial investment in the state, and
  • Preparing strategies for upcoming social welfare schemes.

The meeting gains significance as Madhya Pradesh continues to position itself as a major investment hub in central India, with projects in renewable energy, IT, textiles, and agriculture-based industries being pushed aggressively by the state government.

Madhya Pradesh’s Development Priorities

Chief Minister Yadav has been actively engaging with the Centre to secure more support for:

  • Urban infrastructure development in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior,
  • Water conservation and irrigation projects for Bundelkhand and Malwa regions,
  • Expansion of expressways, airports, and logistics hubs, and
  • Enhanced employment opportunities for youth through industrial corridors.

Political analysts see this meeting as part of Dr. Yadav’s efforts to align Madhya Pradesh’s growth vision with Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ roadmap.

Strengthening Political Messaging

With Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, such high-level engagements also carry political symbolism. BJP leaders in Madhya Pradesh believe the meeting reflects the Centre’s full support for the state government’s initiatives and will boost public confidence in the leadership.
