Circular Economy and Renewable Energy to Enhance Global Quality of Life
NEW DELHI (Economy India): Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal emphasized India’s growing role in sustainability and technological leadership during the 13th Annual SHRM Conference and Expo 2024 in New Delhi. He highlighted India’s rapid transformation, efforts in green energy, and aspirations to become a developed nation by 2047. Goyal expressed hope that India would pioneer 6G services before the rest of the world.
India’s Push for Circular Economy and Green Energy
Goyal noted that India’s foray into green hydrogen, green ammonia, and energy storage will aid global efforts against climate change. He emphasized how reducing dependence on crude oil imports will lower the trade deficit and decrease the need for foreign currency.
“Our push towards the circular economy, electric mobility, and renewable energy will enhance the quality of life not only for Indians but for people across the globe,” he added.
Vision for 2047: Developed Nation Status
Goyal stated that bold policy decisions and the strategic use of technology will propel India toward developed nation status by 2047. “The government’s focus on accountability and citizen welfare, along with decisive leadership, will be instrumental in achieving this vision,” he said.
Highlighting India’s economic progress, Goyal remarked, “India’s transformational growth has made it a trusted partner for the world. The country’s demographic dividend, combined with robust infrastructure in roads, electricity, and digital connectivity, is preparing a nation deeply connected to its future.”
India’s Leadership in Digital Innovation and 6G
Discussing India’s strides in the digital economy, Goyal praised the nation’s success in providing low-cost smartphones, affordable data, and efficient digital transactions. He said, “India’s journey in the digital space is unmatched, and we are now leading the way toward 6G innovation.”
He added, “We hope to roll out 6G services ahead of the world and unlock its benefits for our citizens first.”
G20 Presidency: Foundation for Future Growth
Reflecting on India’s leadership of the G20, Goyal noted that India’s transition from being one of the five fragile economies to the world’s fifth-largest economy showcases the nation’s growing strength. “India has become a preferred investment destination due to our economic stability and visionary leadership,” he said.
“The groundwork for tomorrow’s India is already laid,” Goyal emphasized. “We have changed the country’s mindset to think bigger. If we align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, we will surely achieve our dreams.”
Goyal’s address underscored India’s dual focus on sustainability and technology leadership. As the nation works to reduce environmental impact, it also aims to lead the global transition into 6G technology. With a solid foundation in place, India is poised to become a developed nation and a key player in the global economy by 2047.
