Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today released an informative booklet based on the state’s flagship campaign “Mor Gaon Mor Pani” (My Village, My Water) in his chamber at the Vidhan Sabha premises. The release marks a milestone in the state’s grassroots water conservation journey.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai recalled that the campaign was launched on Panchayati Raj Diwas and has since ignited an unprecedented awareness around water conservation and enrichment across Chhattisgarh.
“The enthusiasm shown by gram panchayats and the spontaneous participation of the public have transformed this initiative into a full-fledged people’s movement,” he remarked.
He emphasized that citizens are now voluntarily contributing to noble tasks like water preservation — a sign of deepening public consciousness and a positive shift in social behavior.
🌱 A Movement Rooted in Villages
The “Mor Gaon Mor Pani” campaign was envisioned as a decentralized approach to water management, empowering local governance and community involvement. Its focus lies in:
- Rainwater harvesting
- Revival of traditional water bodies
- Village-level water planning
- Community-driven initiatives
The CM acknowledged that such proactive campaigns not only strengthen rural resilience but also symbolize true participatory governance. The success of the campaign, he said, is testimony to the power of collective effort.
📘 About the Booklet
The booklet serves as a comprehensive documentation of the campaign’s implementation strategies, achievements, and community stories from across the state. It aims to inspire further replication of successful models and promote awareness at the grassroots.
💬 CM’s Closing Note
“Water is not just a resource; it is the essence of life. When communities come together to protect it, they also safeguard their future.”
CM Sai thanked all stakeholders — from panchayat leaders and government officials to youth groups and common citizens — for embracing water as a shared responsibility.
