KOLKATA (Economy India) The West Bengal government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has announced plans to introduce a new anti-rape law. This proposed legislation aims to enhance the protection of women and ensure swift and stringent justice for rape and sexual assault cases.

Key Provisions of the New Law

The new law will establish special courts to expedite the trial of rape cases. It will focus on prioritizing the safety of women and enforcing harsher penalties for perpetrators. Additionally, the legislation includes provisions for providing psychological and legal support to victims.
