New Delhi (Economy India): Bharti Airtel has strengthened its network infrastructure in the national capital to manage the expected surge in data and voice traffic during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the telecom operator said on Sunday.
The network augmentation comes ahead of the India AI Impact Expo 2026, which is expected to attract over 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates, policymakers, technology leaders, startups, and researchers from across the globe.
According to the company, Airtel has undertaken comprehensive capacity enhancements to ensure seamless, high-speed connectivity throughout the summit period, which begins on February 16 in New Delhi.
“The AI Impact Summit is a major platform for India to showcase its AI achievements and future roadmap to the world, bringing global business and political leaders to New Delhi. Airtel has strengthened its network infrastructure to deliver seamless, high-speed connectivity for the summit,” the company said in a statement.

Network Enhancements Across Key Locations
Airtel said it has deployed additional network resources across high-density zones, including event venues, hotels, transport corridors, and surrounding areas, to support the anticipated spike in mobile data usage and voice traffic.
The enhancements include:
- Capacity augmentation on existing mobile sites
- Deployment of additional network elements to handle peak traffic
- Optimisation of data throughput for high-bandwidth applications
- Strengthening of backhaul connectivity to ensure uninterrupted service
Such measures are aimed at supporting real-time demonstrations, live streaming, video conferencing, and data-intensive AI showcases expected during the summit and expo.

Supporting India’s Global AI Showcase
The India AI Impact Summit and Expo are positioned as flagship platforms for demonstrating India’s growing role in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem. With participation from international delegations, global technology firms, startups, and government stakeholders, uninterrupted digital connectivity is seen as a critical enabler for the event’s success.
Airtel’s network preparedness reflects the increasing role of telecom infrastructure in supporting large-scale international technology events, where reliability, speed, and latency management are essential.

Telecom Infrastructure and India’s Digital Readiness
Industry experts note that large global summits place significant stress on telecom networks due to concentrated data consumption, international roaming traffic, and extensive use of digital platforms.
By proactively scaling its network, Airtel aims to ensure a consistent user experience for delegates, exhibitors, and organisers, reinforcing India’s image as a digitally ready and technologically capable destination for global events.
Economy India Insight
Airtel’s network ramp-up ahead of the India AI Impact Summit underscores the strategic importance of telecom preparedness in supporting India’s ambitions as a global technology and innovation hub. As AI-driven platforms increasingly rely on robust digital infrastructure, such upgrades highlight the convergence of telecom, technology, and national digital strategy.
