57 Mobile Medical Units Flagged Off in Nava Raipur Under PM Janman Tribal Justice Mission

Raipur | Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar (Economy India): In a significant step toward strengthening healthcare access for tribal and remote communities, 57 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) were honored and flagged off on Tuesday at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Chowk, Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar, under the Pradhan Mantri Janman (PM Janman) – Prime Minister Tribal Justice Mahabhiyan.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai flagged off the vehicles by waving the green flag, marking the beginning of an initiative expected to transform healthcare delivery in interior tribal regions.

Healthcare Access to 2.3 Lakh Tribal Beneficiaries

These Mobile Medical Units will provide medical services across 18 districts, particularly benefiting PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups), including:

  • Kamar
  • Baiga
  • Pahadi Korwa
  • Birhul
  • Abujhmadia communities

An estimated 2,30,000 tribal residents will receive doorstep healthcare facilities. Each unit is equipped for:

  • Free diagnosis of 25 types of common and critical diseases
  • On-the-spot medical check-ups
  • Free distribution of prescribed medicines

Officials stated that the initiative aims to ensure primary medical support reaches villages where conventional healthcare access is limited.

Housing, Roads, Electricity and Water Connectivity Approved

Under the PM Janman Yojana, the government has approved:

  • 32,000 PM Awas (housing) units for tribal families
  • Road connectivity, drinking water infrastructure and electrification of remote villages

These interventions are targeted to improve social development and provide essential facilities to populations previously disconnected from mainstream services.

  • Minister Tankram Verma
  • Minister Dayaldas Baghel
  • Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb
  • Minister Laxmi Rajwade
  • Minister Gajendra Yadav
  • Minister Rajesh Aggarwal
  • Deepak Mhaske, President, Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited
  • Ambikapur Mayor Manjusha Bhagat
  • Senior department officials and administrative officers

A Step Toward Inclusive Healthcare

Officials emphasized that the Mobile Medical Units will serve as a crucial link between remote tribal habitations and mainstream healthcare infrastructure, supporting the government’s mission of inclusive growth and welfare.

“This is not just a healthcare delivery system; it is a doorway of justice, dignity and equal access for our tribal citizens,” a senior health department representative stated.
