Gurugram: Lakshya Scholar Khushi Gaur has won the state SGFI (School Games Federation of India) Games held in Panchkula from 22nd-24th November 2022. She represented the tennis team of the Gurugram district. The trophy was presented to her by Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khatter.
The SGFI promotes healthy competition, social connections, and cultural vivacity among athletes through quality physical education. Each state government in India conducts SGFI championships at the state level to promote school sports activity and athletic excellence in the country’s school sports sector.
Speaking about her victory, Khushi said, “As a Lakshya Scholar, I am grateful to the M3M Foundation for supporting me and giving me wings to pursue my dreams. Initially, my family was worried about financing my tennis career. M3M Foundation’s Lakshya Scholarship was a much-needed breath of fresh air. I have been able to hone my skills primarily due to the Lakshya scholarship, which has also provided me with opportunities to participate in state, and national competitions. I am currently focusing on participating in national-level tournaments.
A U-14 player, Khushi was first selected for the block level team, then for the district level team and finally for the state team of Haryana. She won the semi-finals against the Karnal team and the finals against the Faridabad team. It is now her turn to represent the “Haryana team” at the Nationals. Following her victory, Khushi met Haryana CM Khatter to his Chandigarh residence, where he congratulated Khushi on her victory. He also blessed her for the upcoming Nationals.

“Lakshya” is a unique programme of M3M Foundation to support the growth and advancement of talented children along with youth from socio-economically weaker sections of society, to hone their skills in sports and arts. Like Khushi, there are many other Lakshya scholars who are proving themselves in their fields of sports by putting in regular efforts and hard work.
Priyanka Kewat, another Lakhya scholar won a Gold Medal in International Wushu Tournament held in Georgia. Satrunjay Chakravarty” won the gold medal (U-19 category) in the 2nd Jharkhand State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2022. Deepshikha Singh and Ajay Malik participated in the 36th Nationals Games under the event of Badminton and Lawn Tennis respectively. Abhishek Sharaswat got selected for the Aligarh District Kabaddi Team U16, and will be participating in the Kabaddi State Tournament. The emphasis of the Lakshya Programme is to transform each individual into role model within their respective fields, and in their communities.
