NEW DELI I Economy India: In the run-up to the Bihar Special Summary Revision (SIR) 2025, the Election Commission has received a total of 1,60,813 BLA forms from political parties between 3 PM on August 1 and 9 AM on August 6, as per the official bulletin released today. However, no claims or objections have yet been resolved, pending the mandatory seven-day window.

A. Claims & Objections from Political Parties

As per the report, major national and state parties submitted BLA forms to raise claims and objections related to the draft electoral rolls. The breakdown includes:

Despite the massive form submission, none of these claims have been adjudicated yet, as per the rules which mandate that EROs/AEROs (Electoral Registration Officers/Assistant Electoral Registration Officers) can act only after 7 days from receipt.

B. Direct Claims and Objections from Electors

A total of 3,659 claims and objections were received directly from individual voters. These pertain to inclusion of eligible voters and removal of ineligible ones from the draft rolls. As with political party submissions, none of these have been resolved as of now.


C. Applications from New Voters (Aged 18+)

The Commission also received 19,186 Form 6 applications with declarations from individuals aged 18 years or older seeking inclusion in the voter list. These too await resolution following the 7-day rule.


Key Regulations in Effect

  • No names shall be removed from the draft roll without due inquiry and a speaking order by ERO/AERO.
  • All claims and objections will be addressed only after the 7-day mandatory period, ensuring fair hearing and transparency.
  • Total BLA forms submitted: 1,60,813
  • Direct voter claims received: 3,659
  • New voter applications: 19,186
  • Resolutions completed: 0 (as of August 6, 9 AM)

The Bihar SIR 2025 process reflects a high level of engagement from both political parties and voters. The next update is expected post the mandatory adjudication window.

📜 Important Rules & Guidelines

  • As per SIR Orders, no name shall be removed from the draft electoral list without a speaking order by ERO/AERO after due verification and opportunity of hearing.
  • All claims/objections will be addressed only after a 7-day period, as mandated under election law.
