Mumbai, (Economy India): Actor-filmmaker Suniel Anand, the son of legendary Bollywood icon Dev Anand and veteran actress Kalpana Kartik, passed away in London after suffering a heart attack. He was 70 years old.
According to family sources, Suniel Anand died on July 26 in London. The news has saddened members of the film industry and admirers of the Anand family, which has played a significant role in shaping Indian cinema.
A close friend of the late Dev Anand, Mohan Churiwala, confirmed the news and said that Dev Anand’s daughter, Devina Anand, is travelling to London following Suniel’s demise.
Suniel Anand made his Bollywood debut in 1984 with “Anand Aur Anand,” a film directed by his father, Dev Anand. The movie was launched with high expectations, introducing Suniel as the next generation of the Anand family in Hindi cinema.
He later appeared in films such as “Car Thief,” “Main Tere Liye,” and “Master.” Despite his sincere efforts, Suniel was unable to achieve the level of fame and success enjoyed by his father, who remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actors and filmmakers.
